We are an award-winning pro bono project providing quality, rewarding voluntary opportunities, primarily with the needs of legal student volunteers in mind.
Volunteering with us can give you valuable transferable skills, training and experience beneficial for building a future career. CommUnify offers you the chance to help people with real problems and use your skills to contribute to the local community. Please see the About Us page (click here) for further information on the work we do.
Our clinic times allow you to fit in volunteering around your university or work schedules. Our founder was a law student herself, who experienced how difficult it can be to find pro bono roles that do not require an excessive time commitment. We offer flexibility that other opportunities may not, which we hope enables a longer-term commitment from our volunteers.
We are looking for enthusiastic, personable, committed and reliable individuals with a keen interest in making a difference to the local community and the lives of others. Training will be provided.
You should be IT literate with excellent written/oral communication skills, and able to pay attention to detail in order to solve problems.
Although previous customer-facing experience would be useful, it is not a necessity. Foreign language skills are a plus, but are not essential.
We ask for a commitment from you to attend training, an induction and to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours one evening per fortnight. We prefer those who are able to offer a longer-term time commitment (which also looks better on your CV). You must be at least 18 to volunteer with us.
We usually ask that our volunteers are currently studying law or legal practice, or are qualified and/or already working in the legal sector. Please email us before applying if you have a query regarding this.
